Following the renovation of the Würzburg Residence that was completed in December 2016, the state gallery in the north wing was re-opened. This is where works of Venetian painting are displayed: in addition to devotional and history paintings, allegories and portraits, other paintings are also exhibited that allow us to glimpse life in the Venice – the city of festivals and pleasure – that much more closely. Among these is a view that shows the picturesque city on the lagoon as a place fights were fought, namely on the Ponte dei Pugni (Joseph Heintz the Younger, c. 1648). This painting was chosen by Studio KNACK as the graphic element for the exhibition opening.
Corian® was selected as the material for labelling the exponents. Due to its minimal material thickness the diffuse light in the exhibition falls from the side onto the material and produces as white shimmer on the light-grey edge. This effect is similar to the visual impact created by the silk hangings on the back walls. The texts, set by Studio KNACK, were printed using the UV technique on the upper side.

The Chinese solar cell company Trina Solar has achieved a technical breakthrough. By using a higher amplitude in the microscopic surface layer more energy can be generated, even though the surface area stays the same. This surface enlargement principle formed the basis for the design concept – the hilly microscopic landscape was used to mark the stand’s boundary with steles of different heights.
Due to the technical and industrial character of this industry, metal was used as the main material. The metal had round perforations that can be found in the dot on the ‘i’ of the company’s logo. All design elements used provide the necessary framework for a sophisticated corporate presentation, thus reflecting virtual reality and augmented reality applications.

Take a pinch of courage and add it to an already present orange, Indian-inspired colour scheme, garnish it with a substantial dose of minimalism and the outcome is Kœri. A copper monolith dominates the space. Playfully arranged and spaced apart, black varnished maritime pine boards serve as wall panelling, reduce the noise and improve the acoustics. The design, remodelling, renovation and transformation of the former dining hall into a night location and bar were all implemented. Studio KNACK also planned and organised each stage of its realisation.

Furniture manufacturing and product presentation for the company Keller Sports in the Balan complex in Munich. The main challenge of this project was to reinforce the brand identity and Keller Sports’ product portfolio with reduced forms and a deliberately reserved colour scheme.
The use of the back-lit mesh structure in the reception area and for product presentation was inspired by textiles used in the sport industry.
